NavSci operates a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the U.S. Department of Energy at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in Oak Ridge, TN.  NavSci's technology has been supported by the U.S. Deparment of Homeland Security through Small Business Innovative Research Phase I and Phase II programs.  NavSci licenses the base technologies in the form of patents from ORNL, which are now being jointly filed by both NavSci and ORNL.  NavSci has six issued patents with four additional pending all validating a unique wireless communications technology and protocol.

    Research and Development

The result of NavSci's research and development efforts is a new form of wireless communications technnology, Hybrid Techniques for ModulationTM (HTFMTM).  This technology has unique characteristics originally designed for wireless operations in intense industrial environments.  It delivers superior resistance to and from interference, unprecedented bandwidth with a single masted antenna, increased power utilization, advanced location-based solutions, and unprecedented multi-user access scheme, and a new form of wireless security.
